The sound of the Egyptian flute I have is really something special, I must say. I had three flutes from Erik and kept only the Egyptian flute. Also, if I get a flute, I think I am leaning toward it. I’m especially keen to get more information about the Chinese Flute because I’ve heard less about it. It is $115.ĭo any of you have experiences with either of these two flutes? I’d like to read your impressions. Perhaps the biggest drawback for me is I think it isn’t significantly different from my Das (Fantasy Flutes) Shiva Ranjani. It seems to be among Erik’s most popular flutes, along with the Oriental Flute. It has a nice, exotic, reedy sound that, indeed, conveys the atmosphere of a Middle Eastern desert night. The other is Erik the Flutemaker’s Egyptian Flute. My wife describes it as a “morning sound”. Unlike most of my flutes, it has a bright, cheerful scale. The one that has appealed to me as long as I’ve been visiting Erik the Flutemaker’s website is the Chinese Flute. However, there are two by Erik the Flutemaker that I have been considering, and I wonder if either one is special enough to add to my collection. I’m not sure I’ll opt for one this year because I have all the flutes I need, and then some. Each year, I usually get a flute as a birthday gift from my wife.
